ETA® International is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) trade association that serves as the leader in accredited, industry-recognized certifications for technical professionals. ETA certifications are used by many different organizations around the world, including the Certified Service Center program. With an ETA certification, you can work in areas such as fiber optics, RF communications, electronics, biomedical, renewable energy, smart home, photonics and precision optics, information technology, and more! ETA-certified professionals can be found at companies such as Disney, Raytheon, Google, Verizon, Motorola Solutions, Target, as well as throughout all branches of the US Military.
By attaining an ETA technical certification, you can be assured that your credential is:

ETA International, the leading authority in certifying Land Mobile Radio (LMR) communications technicians, is proud to introduce the DAS Master Specialty Certification, CETms(D); a groundbreaking credential designed to validate expertise in Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). This prestigious certification sets a new benchmark for professionals responsible for designing, installing, optimizing, and maintaining DAS solutions critical to public safety and commercial wireless communications.
To achieve the DAS Master Specialty Certification, an individual must have six (6) or more years combined electronics training and/or work experience and successfully attain:
The DAS Master Specialty CETms(D) Certification is designed to ensure that professionals possess the knowledge and hands-on expertise to mitigate the risks associated with improperly optimized DAS systems. A misconfigured DAS can severely impair radio system infrastructure, leading to critical communication failures. In addition, it is highly recommended that professionals attain the FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL) as many Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) require it in order to work with in-building wireless communications systems.
Each year ETA recognizes CAs who admistered the most certification exams for the previous calendar year. Congratulations to the below CAs!
The Distributed Antenna Systems Technician (DAST) certification includes robust technical service and skills applicable to all of the functions required to safely and completely test, commission, maintain, troubleshoot and provide support of in-building public safety distributed antenna systems during and after installation.
DAST covers the IFC and NFPA requirements of annual recertification and five-year reoptimization of the entire Public Safety DAS. Public safety DAS Emergency Radio Communications Enhancement Systems (ERCES) includes equipment and components (BDAs, active and passive devices, copper wiring, fiber optics, antenna cabling, connectors, splitters, couplers, taps, hybrid connections, amplifiers, and test equipment) within the various communications systems with which connectivity is provided. Further, there are areas addressing Code Compliance and Design for ERCES and for additional knowledge and best practices. This certification can be either a Journeyman or Stand-Alone certification. Cost is $105.
The Broadband Fiber Installer (BFI) certification is ETA's newest fiber optic certification and designed for technicians specializing in the FTTx field studying the "physical layer" of the OSI model.
This certification covers a variety of topics including:
You'll also learn practical skills such as fiber optics troubleshooting techniques and gain hands-on experience in analyzing FTTx signatures, measuring reflectance, and identifying faults in fiber optic communications and transmission cabling. This certification is a Stand-Alone certification. Cost is $155.
